SUNDAY SERVICES

Early Communion 8-30 second sunday in the month

Sunday morning service 10 a.m.

Evening service 6 pm except the second sunday in the month

Mornings congregations average about 60 adults and 20 children; evenings about 15 adults. Each service lasts about 1 hour. On the second Sunday of each month we also have an 8-30 am Holy Communion: a small quiet service for adults, lasting about half an hour and on that sunday there is no evening service. The preacher at morning or evening services is different each week, and is published quarterly in the Circuit Plan (for all the churches in our Circuit) and on the Church Notices each week. The minister conducts about a quarter of these services and our own local preachers a considerable [proportion of the others.

Sunday School is also at 10 am, and on most Sundays the children are in the adult service for about 15 minutes and then go into the back rooms for the remaining time. The themes for both Sunday School and Church are taken from 'Salt'.

A few times per year we have a Family Service where the children remain in Church with the adults for the entire service. Occasionally we have a service purely for the children. Whenever there are children in the service, we make a special effort to make everything relevant to them, there is often congregational participation e.g. by reading the bible; or presenting a sketch.

Evening services are usually smaller in number and of a more contemplative style. Periodically we hold a Taize style service.

Holy Communion is celebrated in both morning and evening services, about once a month. "All who love the Lord Jesus Christ" are welcome to receive the bread and wine: one does not need to be a Church Member. Children are also welcome as full participants at such services and once a quarter they all join with us for communion during .a morning service

Several times a year we hold services jointly with St Mary's Church, either in their Church or in ours, often for special seasons, e.g. Carol Service, all souls and the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. These services are in usually evening services.
